We are now looking for Tech & Engineering Lead to support all value streams
Digital & IT at SAS are on a transformation journey and we starting to build in-house digital development capabilities to enable fast, high quality development in several value streams. You will help us launch and expand on nimble tech infrastructure and agile development capabilities, building development team’s ability to take on end-to-end responsibility and deliver high quality code that brings customer value and commercial value to SAS.
We are looking for a Senior tech lead with positive energy, deep tech competence and collaboration skills to support our teams to take a further leap to in-house development, your main focus will be;
• Support teams to develop and enhance SAS’s commercial technology platform, with the goal of building a highly scalable and adaptable set of services and solutions that will enable and accelerate the airline’s growth by maximizing efficiency, putting the customer in the front seat
• Support stream leaders and teams with building efficient development practices, joint principals on platforms and microservices
• Coach individual developers and build a community around development that will attract and retain developers to SAS. Lead Developer Skill hub to encourage and share best practices, ensure competence growth and to build software engineering craftmanship culture within the teams
• Support the value stream leaders in recruitment and sourcing of highly skilled engineers to ensure the overall quality of the code produced
• Help the department to evangelize data with the goal of infusing a data driven approach and mindset to every aspect of the solutions
• Support the teams with operational optimization of Cloud native solutions and tech challenges across value streams including platform level decisions, security, target architecture and best practices
• Share knowledge and educate team members outside of the developer community to bring the overall tech knowledge to the next level in all of our teams
• As part of the Leader team – contribute to the overall goals, strategies and plans
We are looking for a leader with proven experience as a senior software engineer, ideally with exposure to both ‘world-class rapidly growing technology first’ working with customer facing solutions and businesses going thru digital transformation at significant scale. Possess a deep understanding of how to translate business goals into tech strategies.
Experience of developing software in the travel domain is highly valued.
You have a demonstrable track record as a full stack developer and/or tech lead, driving significant impact. You need to be up to date with the latest development practice and tooling and be prepared to work side by side with developers to help them grow.
You have great communication skills and you can engage with both the developer community and those who are less technical in their daily work.
