SMT have today a very complex application landscape with a mix of modern and old applications hosted both on-prem and cloud servers.

We are strengthen and increasing our on-prem Data Center capabilities in Sandviken to support both local Production critical systems and global business applications mainly on Windows/Linux platforms. The operations will be taken over by a 3rd party supplier during first half of 2021, and the purpose of the position is together with the supplier provide clearly defined and reliable Data Center services to the customers.

You will be the point of contact towards the supplier and be the driving force of developing and modernizing the Data Center. The role is key for designing the new Data Center function, as well as establishing the necessary services for the area.  You will also be part of continuous improvement and automation of operations , as well as act as point of contact for the internal functions utilizing the services.

You have an essential role in serving as the point of escalation and collecting feedback and requirements from customers and other stakeholders. 


As highly appreciated service manager you are expected to: 
Identifying customer needs and translating them into services. 
Managing incoming pipeline of new projects and demands. 
Lead the development of the Data Center services portfolio by creating, packaging and defining the services, ensuring services are delivered in accordance with agreed business requirements, and managing the service roadmaps.
Establish financial, business and pricing models for the services in scope.
Work with different vendors and supplier and ensure supplier performance and follow up service reporting metrics, budget and improvement plans according to agreed SLAs/OLAs.
Ensure that Data Center services comply with security, regulatory and legal requirements.
Acting as point of escalation for operational issues affecting the services


You are expected to hold a university degree in IT or similar work experience and have previous experience in service management role, preferably in the Data Center area.
You should be able to manage multiple stakeholders with different maturity and requirements. 

You are also expected to be collaborative, thinking strategic but also utilize existing capabilities internally and externally to take us to the new target operating model in the new company. 

You are also not afraid to get into technical discussions and help solutioning Data Center projects/demands to a certain level using solution architects, engineers and operators. You are self-organized, structured, have good communication and social skills. Have good Swedish and English skills, verbal and written. Some travel and willingness to adjust working hours is needed. 

  • Minimum of 4 plus years of experience in service management role, preferably in Data Center area.
  • Experience good knowledge of compute, storage, and data center technologies and emerging trends
  • Understanding of ITIL v3 service managements and operational processes needed to uphold a service.
  • Experience in service and contract management in a multivendor global environment 
  • Ability to coordinate and manage global changes and initiatives
