Job description.

Randstad Life Sciences is now looking for our newest member to join our team of interims at ECDC. You will work as a Junior Scientific Expert at the Public Health Function Unit (PHF Unit) in the Section dealing with Emergency Preparedness and Response Support.

The Junior Scientific Expert will

  • assist with coordination of literature reviews; perform systematic searches of the literature and evidence-based reviews on areas relevant on preparedness
  • support projects in the area of public health, more broadly in the area of preparedness and response
  • support drafting of after-action reviews
  • assist in organising and hosting technical workshops

Scope of work.

This is a full-time assignment that will start in the middle of January 2020 and end April 30th 2020 (fixed-term contract).


The specific competences and experience required for the current assignment are

  • excellent written English
  • knowledge/experience working on topics related to infectious disease or public health
  • experience in conducting literature reviews
  • experience with after-action reviews, simulation exercises and/or biosecurity or bioterrorism issues. Experience in the area of preparedness and response would be a definite plus.
